FROM NORTHWEST ANIMAL COMPANIONS WEBSITERecently, a very generous donor gave NAC the opportunity to realize the dream that started it all. Two hundred scenic acres in the foothills north of Boise will soon become Almost Home, a no-kill companion animal sanctuary that will provide a safe place for homeless, abandoned, or abused companion animals to romp and play until they find their forever families.  The expansive sanctuary grounds will be complete with native landscaping, walking trails, visitor cabins, and summer events to be held in our scenic amphitheater.

Turtle Talk Rescue, Inc.

APRIL 2010

Our goal is to provide food, medical care and appropriate indoor/outdoor enclosures for the large African Spurred Tortoises as well as the smaller turtles and tortoises at the rescue. Networking with other organizations, and community involvement is the key to making any vision work.  Turtle Talk Rescue has become a vital resource for the community. We work closely with the Idaho Herpetological Society, the Idaho Humane Society, Animals in Distress, Northwest Animal Companions, and other local rescue organizations to ensure the safety and well being of these animals.

GREAT NEWS:  We have been offered a small section of land on a 200 acre animal sanctuary in which to build a Turtle/Tortoise Rescue, Education and Conservation Center in the foothills just outside of Boise.  This will include a Turtle/Tortoise Barn, large outdoor enclosures, ponds, caretaker’s quarters, volunteer cabins an organic garden and much more.  This Center will become a safe sanctuary for the turtles/tortoises; an education center in which people are welcome to interact, study and care for the animals; and a conservation center in which to help the native animals in our area. Our goal is to build a center where we can continue our mission of sharing these amazing animals with students of all ages.
